Group homepages: a summary

Groups have a dedicated home in Blink where members can view feed posts, channels, resources, and fellow members from that group.

You have to be a member of the group to view its homepage.

Group feed posts

A group homepage shows the feed posts that have been sent to that group. I can still see those feed posts in my main feed, but I can head to the group homepage for a filtered view of posts sent to that group only.

Group channels

If my group has channels then these will show in a channels widget (on web) or a carousel (on mobile - see screenshot above) on my group homepage.

Web widget:

A group can have multiple channels and these are visible to all group members who can join and leave the channel at any time.

If I’m a group admin, I can add a new channel directly from the web channel widget by pressing the + icon. On mobile, I can add a new channel by selecting the see all against channels and then new channel:

Community channels

Communities always have a default channel. This is so the community has a home for its conversations. Group admins can create new channels for the community if they please.

Team channels

Teams don’t have default channels and it’s the responsibility of the group admin to create them.

Group resources

Group homepages include a widget (web) or carousel (mobile) for hub resources, which gives easy access to resources that have been shared with that group. It surfaces quick links first, followed by folders.

Group members

Group homepages include a widget that shows the members of that group. Selecting View All will give me a full membership list, starting with group admins.

If I’m a group admin, I can add new members directly from the members web widget. On mobile, I can add new members by selecting the see all against members and then new member.
