Enable custom live streaming for meetings/webinars

To be able to stream a meeting or webinar, an administrator needs to enable the functionality through the Zoom web portal.

The key steps are:

  • Under In Meeting (Advanced), verify that Allow livestreaming of meetings/webinars is enabled.

  • Select the Custom Live Streaming Service check box.

  • Click Save to save the changes.

How to add stream details from Zoom to Blink in advance

If desired, you can give Zoom the information it needs to stream your meeting in advance, to save you time during the meeting.

  • Schedule a meeting, or find your existing scheduled meeting

  • Open the meeting you’re wanting to stream

  • Go to the “Live Streaming” tab

  • Click on “Configure custom streaming”

  • Enter the Blink RTMPS stream details. These are provided when you add a live stream to your feed post. (Link to top-level help doc). You can find these again on the feed post itself, or in the Post Planner for scheduled posts.

  • Zoom requires you to add a ‘Live streaming page URL’. This doesn’t have to be anything meaningful. It could, though, be a link to the feed post.

How to start streaming from Zoom to Blink during a meeting

If the meeting is already underway, it’s possible to add the live stream details directly from the Meeting. You must have the appropriate permission, like being a Host of the meeting.

  • Click the More > Livestream > Live on Custom Live Streaming Service menu item.

  • If you’ve yet to populate the stream details, this will also provide you with a place to enter them.

  • The stream will then begin! After a few seconds of buffering, the stream will go live to users.
