Communicating with each other respectfully on Blink is essential, so it is important that all users are mindful about how they express themselves, both digitally and physically.
Many Blink customers choose to set up a User Etiquette agreement as a Mandatory Read prior to launching Blink to their workforce, so that when their Users sign up to Blink they are asked to confirm their agreement to the policy.
Example User Etiquette Mandatory Read
Welcome to Blink, your new employee application! As we get things started here, we ask for your adherence to the following guidelines.
š Six Key Rules
Mind your manners
Keep your messages and posts both professional and relevant. Conduct yourself appropriately. As with any workplace tool, content shared can be retrieved if necessary. If you think āis it ok for me to post this?ā, itās probably not okay. Walk away from your device and come back to it later with fresh eyes.
ā
Collaborate with care
Start your 1-1 or group chats with a friendly greeting. Always try to end your conversations with a āthank youā or āgreat workā, for example. Treat others the same way that you would like to be treated.
š” Quick tip! Access emojis and GIFs in both the Feed and Chats via the "+" button
ā
Respect peoples' time
Your colleagues may be busy, on a shift, away from their desk or even in another time zone. If you donāt receive a response immediately, be patient and double-check their time zone before contacting again.
š” Quick tip! Check someone's status by clicking on their profile. You can set your own status and Do Not Disturb (DND) hours in your settings
ā
Work together
Chats make messaging quick and convenient, but it is not a substitute for collaborating face-to-face or by phone. If itās safe and possible, important discussions should take place in person.
š” Quick tip! Zoom, Microsoft or Google Meets accounts can be integrated with chats to set up virtual meetings. If meeting in person, you can āShare Addressā in chats under the "+" button
ā
Take your time
Review content you want to share and the audience itās going to. Never rush what youāre trying to say to ensure you communicate your message, post or comment correctly
š” Quick tip! In chats you can create a private message with yourself. If youāre not yet ready to post to the Feed yet, draft your ideas there
ā
Stay Secure
Blink is safe and secure as well as GDPR and HIPAA compliant, but you still do need to follow internal security practices too. Do not share personal or sensitive information, such as passwords or bank account information.
š” Quick tip! You can apply your device biometrics as an extra level of security when you open Blink. Go to the settings icon āļø and toggle over āBiometricsā

My organization has more stringent guidelines than this. | No worries! This article, like many others in our launch kit, is merely supposed to provide a suggestion or starting point. We completely understand that each organization is different and believe your rules should reflect that. |
What do I do if a user isn't following our guidelines? | Ideally, we want every user to be a part of the bigger conversation within your organization; however, we know that this doesn't always happen. You, as an admin, have the access to restrict users as needed. For more information on this, please see this article. |
