Introduction
Users are able to customise their Blink experience to best suit their needs by managing their preferences: notification settings, using the do-not-disturb feature, enabling compact or standard chat modes, and controlling temperature, language, and time zone settings.
This article will only cover navigation. Please see the referenced articles for each section for more information on that particular setting or preference.
What can I update?
🔔 Notification Settings | Users may select whether they'd like to be notified about everything or only mentions & direct messages. They can also choose their desktop notification sound when editing this on the desktop. |
🚫 Do not disturb | Users can set hours they would like to silence all notifications as well as set their time zone. For more information, please see Do Not Disturb and How to set or change your timezone. |
💻 Desktop preferences | Only accessible through desktop version. Users can enable/disable the "compact chats" feature which hides message previews on the chats tab to allow more chats to fit on screen. This section also allows users to adjust their temperature preference to display as Celsius or Fahrenheit. |
🔣 Language Settings | If you use Blink across multiple devices, you need to set the preferred language on each.

How to update preferences
On Desktop
In the upper left corner, click on your profile picture.
This will open the menu pictured below. Select "Edit preferences"
From here, you can select your preferred setting for each option. TO finalize your changes, click "Save Changes" at the bottom. This will update your profile preferences across all applicable devices.
On Mobile
In the lower right corner, select the "settings" icon.
In the settings menu, select the preference you wish to edit i.e. chat notifications, Language settings, do not disturb.
