Open Shifts 2.0 for Users

Blink's open shifts tool enables users to view available shifts, request shifts, and view shifts allocated to them.

Updated over a week ago

Blink's Open Shifts tool helps shift managers advertise available shifts on the Blink feed and enables employees to apply for available shifts.

Managers can assign the shift and notify the team member, and there is a summary in the Hub showing all the available, booked and applied for shifts for both manager and employee.

By providing a way to advertise available shifts in the app your teams are using every day, Open Shifts will help you fill shifts sooner and with less effort.

Open Shifts for Users

As a user (employee), the open shifts tool enables you to:

  1. View all shifts (your assigned shifts, available shifts, shifts you have requested)

  2. View available shifts on your feed post

  3. Request shifts

  4. Receive shift updates on your feed

  5. Stay up to date with your assigned shifts

How to access the tool

In the Hub on your Blink app, navigate to the Open Shifts tool.

This may be housed in different locations within the Hub depending on your organization. If you're sure it's been enabled but are having trouble locating it, try searching for "Open Shifts" in the Hub search bar, or reach out to your manager for assistance.

  • Open shifts

  • Shifts you have requested

"My shifts" are always shown at the top of the page:

Scroll down past "my shifts" to view Available shifts.

(shifts you have requested will be shown with a "requested" badge):
