Using passcodes, fingerprint or facial recognition to access Blink.

Introduction

Organizations can require all employees to use this extra level of security to access Blink to secure sensitive data.

Suppose your organization does not require you to do this, but you'd like to add even more security to your account. In that case, you can also turn on fingerprint or facial recognition security from settings.

Setting up biometric recognition to access Blink.

  1. Go to the Blink settings page on your mobile device.
  2. Scroll to the Privacy & Security section and toggle Biometrics on. On iOS, the setting will say Touch ID or Face ID depending on which type of security your device supports.
  3. You will need to complete fingerprint or facial recognition to confirm this setting change.

Enabling this function for your users

You need to be an Organization Admin to be able to update this.

Firstly, you need to head to the Admin page and then to the Authentication tab. At the bottom of the page you will find this: 

Flick the toggle to Blue for it to be enabled across your entire organization.

Troubleshooting

Why am I being asked for fingerprint or face recognition?
If you did not set this up on your account, your organization has likely set it up as a requirement to access Blink. Please get in touch with your line manager.
I can't unlock the app.
If you are locked out of your account, please contact support@joinblink.com. We will need to check your identity and work with your organization to unlock your account.
