Why can't I see/do anything in Blink?
Why can't I see/do anything in Blink?

This problem is usually caused by a user being adding to a duplicate organization

Updated over a week ago

For some organizations, users have the ability to enter an organization name when they register. Sometimes, this results in duplicate organizations where said user is the only member. In these situations, it's important to contact support@joinblink.com so we can assist.

In this article:

⏸️ What are duplicate organizations

As mentioned above, a duplicate organization is created when a user mistakenly enters their own organization name as opposed to joining their existing organization. This can happen during the registration part of the process.

🔎 What do they look like

Duplicate organizations will look just like a normal organization except for the lack of users. You can identify if you have accidentally joined a duplicate organization by looking at the following factors:

  1. The app isn't branded: if the logos and colors don't line up with your organization, it's most likely not the correct instance

  2. No other users: check the chats and teams available to see if there are any other users. A functioning Blink instance will have all teams and members of your organization available in the directory feature.

  3. No content: there aren't any links/documents/etc. in the Hub and there are no posts on the Feed.

🛠️ How we fix it

Thankfully, this is a relatively simple issue to resolve. Please contact our support team at support@joinblink.com and we would be happy to help!

Once you contact us, our team will disable the duplicate organization and remove your user info. After we've done this, you can be added to the existing instance for your organization with no issues.
