What are Micro-Apps?

What micro-apps are in Blink and how admins can use them to promote efficiency and engagement

Updated over a week ago

Found in the Hub, Micro-Apps are small single-purpose applications, used to complete specific pieces of a workflow. They are designed to reduce the amount of time spent on non-core tasks by adding additional functionality to Blinks user experience.

For example, Blink already has timekeeping, sickness, return to work, and canteen menu micro apps developed and ready for use. They all run on top of Blink and an admin can choose to share them with their workforce or a specific team as needed.

In addition to reducing time spent by end-users, Blinks Micro-Apps are rapid to develop since they use Blink's built-in libraries to manage authentication and authorization - so any developer with knowledge of HTML/javascript/CSS can build and deploy one quickly.

Blink comes with a handful of demo Micro-Apps that you can run available in the Hub. If you have any questions about how to format the links for your micro-apps, check out this article.
