Sharing videos and media in chat

Send videos, images, and files directly in chat and watch videos right in the conversation.

Written by Liv Rafferty

You can now share videos in chat on any device, and play them back without ever leaving the conversation. You can also add multiple images and videos to your message at the same time before sending.

What you can do

  • Upload and send videos from web, iOS, and Android

  • Watch videos play inline in the chat thread, no download needed

  • Stage multiple images and videos in the reply area before sending

  • Mix images and videos in the same message

How do I send a video in chat?

On mobile (iOS or Android)

  1. Open a chat or channel

  2. Tap the + button then select Camera or Photos & Videos in the reply bar

  3. Select a video from your camera roll or files or create one from camera

  4. Add a message if you'd like, then tap Send

On web

  1. Open a chat or channel

  2. Click the + in the compose bar, or drag and drop a video file into the reply area

  3. Add a message if you'd like, then press Send

🖼️ Can I send multiple photos and videos together?

Yes. You can add multiple images and videos to the compose area before you send.

  1. Tap or click the + button then select Images & Videos

  2. Select multiple images and/or videos

  3. Add a text message if you'd like

  4. Tap Send

Each file will be sent as its own message, in the order you added them, with your text message sent last.

Note: We're working on a gallery view that will group multiple files into a single message. This will be available in a future update.
