Tips for adding images/videos to your posts and throughout your Blink instance

Updated over a week ago

Introduction

Whether you're sending team news, sharing a photo of your work, or welcoming a new starter, images are a great way to make your post stand out! This article will explain how to upload an image or use your phone camera to add a snap to any of your feed posts.

How to upload

iPhones, iPads and Androids

  1. Tap on the “Share a post” box at the top of the screen.

  2. Tap on the + button in the share box. (You can also select the camera icon to open your camera directly.)

  3. Tap on 'Image & Video Library. (If you would rather take a new photo instead of uploading an existing one, select 'Take a photo' to open your camera.)

  4. Select the photo that you want to add to your post and tap Add. If you’d like to add more than one image at once, you will need to press down on one image until a blue check appears allowing you to select multiple files. The order you tap on them is the order they will appear on the post.

  5. If you have uploaded more than one photo and want to change which one is used as the large image on the left-hand side of your post, tap on the images, scroll to find the cover image you want and press the ··· menu to select it as your Cover image.

Desktop

  1. Click upload or the paper clip icon to open the file browser on your computer.

  2. Navigate to the photos you want to add, select as many as you'd like and then add them to your post.

  3. If you have uploaded more than one photo and want to change which one is used as the large image on the left-hand side of your post, tap on the ··· menu to select your Cover image.

Image dimensions

  • Although images are capped at 668px on the desktop app, we recommend uploading an image twice this size for best results.

  • The smaller the file, the quicker it will load when your teammates open their Feed. We recommend using .jpg rather than .png, and if possible, to optimize your image and improve load times
