Overview

The Moderation Centre is your dedicated space for managing all content moderation in Blink. From one centralised location, you can review reported content, approve or decline pending posts, and manage your organisation's blocked keywords list.

Reported content is organised into cards that show you who posted the content, where it was posted, what the content includes, how many users reported it, and why. You can filter by content type to prioritise what matters most.

Note: The Moderation Centre is available on web only. On mobile, moderators will continue to receive and action reports via the existing tasks flow.

Who can use this feature?

The Moderation Centre is available to Organisation Admins, People Admins, and Group Admins. The content you see depends on your role:

  • Organisation Admins and People Admins can see all reported content across the organisation, including reports with no assigned Group Admin and content not associated with a specific group.

  • Group Admins can see reported messages from groups they are assigned to moderate.

Accessing the Moderation Centre

On web, the Moderation Centre is accessed via the ! icon in the top navigation bar. Select the icon to open your moderation tasks and access the Moderation Centre.

The Moderation Centre contains three tabs:

  1. Reported content - View and action open and closed reports

  2. Pending requests - Review posts awaiting approval (if post approval is enabled)

  3. Settings - Manage your blocked keywords list

Reviewing reported content

When you open the Moderation Centre, the Reported content tab displays all open reports as content cards. Each card shows:

  • The author of the reported content and their role

  • The destination (which groups or audiences the content was shared with)

  • A preview of the content, including text, images, video, or audio

  • The number of reports and the reasons users gave for reporting (e.g. Offensive, Harassment, False information, Spamming)

  • The date and time the content was originally posted

  • Whether the post has special attributes such as Featured status

You can action each report directly from the card using the Keep or Remove buttons, or click into the card to view the full report details.

Filtering reports

The Moderation Centre includes filtering tools to help you manage high volumes of reported content.

Content type: Use the Content type filter to narrow reports by the type of content that was reported. Options include Posts, Shorts, Comments, and Chat messages.

Open / Closed toggle: Switch between viewing Open reports (awaiting your action) and Closed reports (previously actioned).

Viewing report details

To get more context before making a moderation decision, click into a report card to open the detail view.

For Feed posts, Shorts, and Comments:

The detail view opens a modal showing the full original content as it appeared on the Feed, including images, video, engagement stats, and comments. Alongside the content, you can see the full list of users who reported it, the reason each person gave for reporting, and when they reported it.

For Chat messages:

The detail view shows the reported message in its original conversation context. You can see up to 20 surrounding messages to understand the full conversation, with the reported message highlighted. The reporter's name, their reason for reporting, and the timestamp are displayed alongside the conversation.

Note: Moderators can view reported content and its attachments even if they are not a member of the original conversation or group. Attachment access is granted specifically for the report and is scoped to that report only.

Keeping or removing content

Once you have reviewed a report, you have two options:

  • Keep - The content remains where it was posted. The report is closed.

  • Remove - The content is permanently deleted, including all direct replies to that content. The report is closed.

When removing content, you will be asked to confirm your decision. Removal is permanent and the author of the content will be notified.

Note: If the same content has been reported by multiple users, it appears as a single report card with a count showing the total number of reporters. Actioning the report once resolves it for all reporters.

If you choose to keep reported content and another user reports it again, a new report will be created. The new reporter may have a different reason, which could change your moderation decision.

Reviewing closed reports

Switch to Closed reports using the toggle at the top of the Reported content tab. Closed reports show a log of previously actioned reports, including who closed the report and what action they took (kept or removed).

As a moderator, you can see all closed reports that relate to the groups or users you moderate. If your group has multiple admins, you will see reports that other admins have closed as well.
