Keeping your app updated

Keeping Blink updated ensures you have the latest features, bug fixes, and security patches. The update process varies slightly by platform.

How do I update Blink?

On the web app: press Ctrl+R (Windows) or Cmd+R (Mac) to refresh. On desktop: quit and reopen the app. On iOS: update via the App Store. On Android: update via the Google Play Store.

✅ Why keeping Blink updated matters

• Get new features as soon as they are released.

• Stay protected with the latest security patches.

• Avoid bugs and performance issues that have been fixed in newer versions.

• Ensure compatibility with your organization's Blink configuration.

🌐 How do I update the web app?

  1. Press Ctrl+R (Windows) or Cmd+R (Mac) to refresh the page.

  2. The latest version will load automatically.

💡 Keep your browser up to date too. An outdated browser can affect Blink's performance independently of the app version.

💻 How do I update the desktop app?

  1. Quit the desktop app completely.

  2. Reopen it - the latest version installs automatically on launch.

💡 The "Check for Updates" option does not reload Blink. It only checks for updates to the app framework, not Blink itself. Always close and reopen the app to get the latest version.

📱 How do I update the iOS app?

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Search for Blink or go to Account > Updates.

  3. Tap Update if a new version is available.

🤖 How do I update the Android app?

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your device.

  2. Search for Blink or tap your profile icon and go to Manage apps and device > Updates available.

  3. Tap Update next to Blink.
