Overview
If you see a profile picture in Blink that you believe is inappropriate, offensive, or impersonating someone else, you can report it directly from the user's profile. Your report is sent to the Organisation Admins and People Admins in your organisation, who will review the profile picture and decide whether to keep or remove it.
This article explains how to report a profile picture, what happens after you submit a report, and what to expect if your own profile picture is reported and removed.
Who can report a profile picture?
Any Blink user can report another user's profile picture. Profile picture reports are reviewed by Organisation Admins only. They are not routed to Group Admins.
How to report a profile picture
Profile pictures can be reported from a user's profile page on web, iOS, and Android.
Open the profile page of the user whose profile picture you want to report.
Select Report profile picture.
A reporting window opens showing a thumbnail of the profile picture.
Choose a reason for reporting.
Optionally, add additional context in the description field to help the moderator understand the report.
Select Submit.
You will see a confirmation that your report has been submitted.
Note: You can only report the same profile picture once. If another user has already reported the same profile picture, your report will still be recorded separately so that moderators can see the full picture of who has reported it and why.
What happens after you report
Your report is sent to the Organisation Admins in your organisation, who will review it in the Moderation Centre.
A moderator will:
Open the report and view the current version of the user's profile, including their profile picture at full size.
Review the reason and any description you provided.
Choose to either Keep or Remove the profile picture.
Reports remain open until a moderator actions them. If the reported user changes their profile picture or is deactivated before the report is reviewed, the report will stay open so that a moderator can decide how to handle it.
What moderators see
When a moderator opens a profile picture report, they see:
The current live version of the reported user's profile, including the profile picture at full size
The reason given for the report
The description provided by the reporter, if any
The name of the reporter
The time the report was made
If multiple users have reported the same profile picture, the moderator will see all reporters and the reasons each of them gave.
Moderators have two options:
Keep the profile picture, which closes the report and leaves the profile picture unchanged.
Remove the profile picture, which deletes it from the user's profile and replaces it with the default auto-generated avatar.
If your profile picture is removed
If a moderator removes your profile picture, you will receive a notification letting you know.
Your avatar will revert to the default auto-generated initial until you upload a new one. You can upload a new profile picture at any time from your profile settings.
Note: Profile pictures are removed when a moderator determines they do not meet your organisation's guidelines. If you have questions about why your profile picture was removed, contact your Organisation Admin.
