Overview
In a busy group chat, important messages, shift changes, safety alerts or key updates can get buried within minutes as new messages come in, forcing people to scroll back or ask the same question again.
Pinning solves this: anyone in a chat can pin a message so it stays visible at the top, until someone removes it.
How to pin a message
Find the message you want to pin.
Open its menu — press and hold the message on mobile, or select the three-dot menu (⋮) next to it on web.
Select Pin.
The message now appears in the pinned messages bar at the top of the chat, visible to everyone in that chat.
You can pin up to 25 messages in a single chat. Once a chat reaches that limit, trying to pin another message will show an erro, unpin an existing message first to make room.
Viewing and jumping to pinned messages
Pinned messages sit in a bar at the top of the chat.
Tap a pinned message to jump straight to it in the conversation, instead of scrolling through message history.
The "jump to latest" button works the same way, taking you directly to the newest message.
How to unpin a message
You can unpin any message you pinned yourself.
Chat admins can unpin any message in the chat, even ones they didn't pin.
Open the message's menu and select Unpin. You'll only see this option next to messages you have permission to remove.
Good to know
Pins don't expire automatically. A message stays pinned until someone unpins it, or the original message is deleted.
Anyone in the chat can pin a message, it's not limited to admins. Removing a pin, however, is limited to the person who pinned it or an admin.

How many messages can I pin in one chat? Up to 25 at a time. Once a chat reaches that limit, you'll need to unpin a message before you can pin another.
