Your employer invites you to Blink via one of three methods: an SMS or email link, a QR code poster, or a physical starter pack. This article walks through each route.

How do I join Blink?

Tap the link in your SMS or email invite, scan a QR code poster with your phone camera, or follow the instructions in your starter pack. The app will guide you through downloading Blink if needed and completing sign-in. Your invite link and QR code are unique to you - do not share them.

✅ What to expect

• The sign-up process takes under 2 minutes on mobile.

• Your invite link and QR code are unique to you - do not share them.

• Use the contact details your employer holds for you (email, phone number, or employee ID).

• If anything goes wrong, your manager or IT team can resend or fix your invite.

📧 SMS or email invite

On mobile

Tap the link or Get started button in your SMS or email. The link will take you to download Blink if it is not already on your device, then direct you to the appropriate sign-in method.

Depending on your organization, you may be asked to enter some personal information to complete your profile.

Via Google, Microsoft, or SAML

If your employer uses Google, Microsoft, or SAML for authentication, you will be prompted to sign in via that provider when you tap your invite link.

On desktop

Email invites can also be accepted in a desktop browser. Click Get started from the invite email and Blink will open in your browser. Accept the privacy policy and you will be signed in.

📱 QR code poster

Scan the QR code on the poster with your device camera and enter the requested sign-in details. Use the contact information your employer holds for you - this will be your phone number, email address, or a unique employee ID.

📦 Starter pack

If your employer has issued you with a starter pack, follow the instructions in the one-page pack to join Blink. Scan the QR code with your device camera, or select Not scanning? Tap to type to enter the invitation code printed at the bottom of the pack.

❓ FAQs

I didn't receive an invite

Check with your manager to confirm your account has been set up. If it hasn't, ask them to create your account and send the invite.

I need my email address or phone number updated

For security reasons, only an administrator in your organization can update your email address or phone number. Contact your manager or IT team for help.

I don't know my sign-in details for Google, Microsoft, or SAML

Your central authentication service is managed by your employer. Contact your manager or IT team if you do not know your sign-in details.

I can't scan the QR code

If your camera won't scan the QR code on a poster, speak to your manager - they can invite you via SMS or email instead. For a starter pack QR code, try scanning with the Blink app scanner, or select Not scanning? Tap to type and enter the invite code printed at the bottom of the pack.

I don't know my employee ID

Speak to your manager to find your employee ID. If they cannot help, contact our support team.

Blink doesn't recognize the contact details I entered

Your Blink account is linked to the email address, phone number, or employee ID that your employer holds for you. Make sure you are using that exact contact detail - not a personal email or alternative number.

I didn't receive my one-time passcode (OTP)

Tap Send again in the Blink app to resend the code. If it still doesn't arrive, see Problems signing in to Blink for further troubleshooting.
