Introduction
Emoji Reactions let you respond quickly and expressively to messages in chat, helping you communicate and connect with your colleagues in a more engaging way.
You can now react to messages using a range of emojis, from a simple thumbs-up 👍 to a celebratory 🎉
Using Emoji Reactions
On Mobile
Long press any message to open the emoji reaction options.
If your organisation has enabled extended emoji reactions, you’ll see a ‘+’ icon. Tap this to open the full emoji picker and choose from an even wider range of emojis.
Select the emoji you want to react with.
To change your reaction, tap on the number of emoji reactions below the message. You’ll be able to remove your current emoji and select a new one.
This menu also shows who else has reacted to the message and which emojis they used.
Note: The default set includes six emojis designed to match the feed emojis, using updated native versions for a more modern look.
On Web
Hover over any message to open the emoji reaction menu.
A small emoji bar will appear, click an emoji to react.
If your organisation has enabled extended reactions, you’ll see a ‘+’ icon that opens a full emoji picker.
To change your reaction, click on the number of emoji reactions beneath the message. You can then remove or replace your emoji.
You’ll also be able to see who reacted and which emojis were used.
Admin Settings
If your organisation prefers to limit reactions, you can downgrade to the default set of six emojis in the Org Setup page in Admin.
It’s important to note that if you downgrade from the full set, any previously used emojis in chat will remain visible.
