📊 Building custom dashboards is available for the Blink IQ Gold Tier. Learn more about how to upgrade your Blink IQ tier here.
With Blink IQ Gold, you can go beyond our standard dashboards to create your own collections of data in custom dashboards.
Customise an existing dashboard
You may want to use one of the standard Blink IQ dashboards as the starting point for your custom dashboard. Here’s how:
Open a dashboard from Blink IQ in the admin panel
Using the three dots menu in the top right hand corner, click ‘Make a copy’
Give your custom dashboard a new name and description, and then click ‘Save’
Now, you can edit your copy of the dashboard by clicking the three dots menu again, and choose ‘Edit’
Move and resize tiles and delete tiles if you want to change the layout of the dashboard
If you’d like to auto-filter the dashboard by a given time range, profile field, or Group, choose the filter from the filter menu at the top of the screen, and under ‘Default values’, choose the values you want to be auto-selected. Then click ‘Apply’
Once you’ve finished editing the dashboard, click ‘Save’ in the top right hand corner
View your custom dashboards
To find your custom dashboards, click ‘All dashboards’ from the ‘Dashboards’ menu of the admin panel, and then select ‘Yours’ at the top of the screen
Create a custom dashboard from scratch
You may want to create a new dashboard from scratch, without using an existing Blink IQ dashboard as the basis. To do this:
Click ‘All dashboards’ from the ‘Dashboards’ menu of the admin panel
Click ‘Create Dashboard’ in the top right hand corner
Give your dashboard a name and description, and choose whether you would like the dashboard to be discoverable by other users in your organisation by ticking the 'Make this Dashboard discoverable' box. Then click ‘Save’
Your dashboard is now ready as a blank slate. From here, you can search data, to create your own data queries, or you can save copies of other metrics from existing dashboards to your new custom dashboard
To save specific metrics from an existing dashboard to your new custom dashboard, open an existing dashboard, click the three dots menu next to the metric you want to save, and click ‘Make a copy’
Then, click ‘Pin’ and choose your dashboard from the list that appears
When you re-open your custom dashboard, you will see that the metric has now been saved, and you can continue adding more metrics, changing the format of the dashboard, and adding filters
Share custom dashboards with other users
Click ‘All dashboards’ from the ‘Dashboards’ menu of the admin panel, and then select ‘Yours’ at the top of the screen
Beside the dashboard you’d like to share with another user, click the three dots menu, and click ‘Share’
Enter the names of the user(s) you’d like to share the dashboard with, and add an optional message or notification to let the user know you’re sharing a custom dashboard with them
Click ‘Share’
The user will then be able to see the dashboard from their ‘All dashboards’ screen
