Finding relevant comments, turning comments on/off on a post, and how to follow/unfollow posts

Introduction

Comments are a great way for other users to provide feedback and responses to relevant posts. To help our users best utilize this feature, we offer the option to disable/enable comments at will, view only the most relevant comments, and follow/unfollow comments on specific posts.

Turning comments off/on

Post authors and moderators may disable comments on their posts at any time in order signal that a topic has been resolved or simply to prevent additional comments from being added so that the team can digest all the feedback, suggestions, and comments received.

Post authors also have the option to turn on commenting again at any time if a need arises to resume the conversation.

💡 Helpful Hint

If the post author disables comments while creating the original post, they will not be able to enable comments later on. If you're unsure about enabling comments, we recommend making the post with comments enabled and then turning off comments through the steps below as this may be changed at any time.

Turning comments off

  1. Tap on the ··· to the right of the Feed post you wish to update to open the menu shown below.

  2. Select 'Turn off commenting' to disable future comments on this post

Turning comments back on

  1. Tap on the ··· to the right of the Feed to open the menu shown below.

  2. Click 'Turn on commenting' to turn comments on

Relevant Comments

Identifying relevant comments

A “relevant comment” is any comment posted by another user from the same location or the same department as you as well as any user you are set as the line manager for.

Look out for the star symbol (shown below) in the top-right-hand corner of a comment: this symbol will only appear next to relevant comments.

Switching between relevant and recent comments

  1. On the Feed post you’re viewing, scroll down to the comments section at the bottom and tap on the 'Most recent' drop down on the left-hand side.

  2. In the view that appears, click on 'Most relevant'.

  3. You can return to the ‘Most recent’ view at any time by following the steps provided above.

Following/unfollowing comments

This is the perfect feature for keeping your feed tailored to your needs. Following comments on posts will help you stay up to date on all the information you need, while the unfollow option lets you weed out the posts that no longer apply to you.

  1. Click on the ··· menu on the post you want to follow or unfollow.

  2. In the menu that appears, you will either see an option to follow or unfollow post comments. (examples pictured below)

  3. One tap and you're done! You can update your following preference at any time by returning to the post and selecting the “unfollow” option through the instructions provided above.

Deleting Comments

We know that it's important to streamline your content and communication with your teams as much as possible. As a result, admins have the option to delete comments as needed.

Admins/Moderators:

  1. Moderators with have the option to delete a comment by selecting the three dots to the left of the comment

  2. From there, click "Delete for all users"

  3. This will open a dialog box. To proceed with deleting the comment, select "Delete Comment"

  4. Once deleted, a message stating the comment has been removed will show in its place.

Users:

  1. Users will only be able to delete a comment they've made. To do this, click the three dots to the right of the comment

  2. Select "Delete"

  3. This will open a dialog box. To proceed with deleting the comment, select "Delete Comment"

  4. Once deleted, a message stating the comment has been removed will show in its place.
