Written by Margaret Greer
Updated today

You can customise your Blink experience to suit your needs - controlling what you're notified about, your working hours, chat layout, temperature units, and language. This article covers how to navigate to each preference. See the linked articles for full details on each setting.

⚙️ What can I update?

🔔 Notification settings

Choose whether to be notified about everything or only mentions and direct messages. Set Do Not Disturb hours, quiet days, group-level preferences, and desktop notification sound. See Managing your notification settings.

📱 Notifications by device

Enable or disable Blink notifications in your device's system settings, and see which notification types are available on each platform. See Notifications by Device.

💻 Desktop preferences

Only accessible on the desktop version. Enable or disable compact chat mode (hides message previews to show more chats on screen) and set your temperature preference (Celsius or Fahrenheit).

🔣 Language settings

If you use Blink on multiple devices, set your preferred language on each device separately. Choose the language that makes Blink most accessible for you. For supported languages and on-demand translation, see On-demand translation and Different languages on Blink.
