You can add any new starter to Blink directly from the Admin portal - all you need is their email address or mobile number. Invitations go out immediately and users can set up their account before their first day.
How do I invite someone to Blink?
Go to Admin portal > Blink Identity > Users and click Invite users. Enter the user's email address or mobile number, their name, and add them to the correct groups. Click Invite to send the invitation.
✅ Why inviting users individually matters
• Gets new starters in before day one - users receive their invitation immediately and can set up their account ahead of their start date.
• Puts the right content in front of every employee - group assignments control which feed posts, hub pages, and channels each user sees, so getting this right at invite stage means no missed communications.
• No HR system dependency - invite anyone with a company or personal email address or mobile number, any time, without waiting for an automated sync.
🔒 Admin only - Organisation Admins can invite anyone to any group. Group Admins can only invite users to the groups they manage.
📍 How do I find the invite panel?
Go to the Admin portal (top-right of your screen on desktop).
Click Users under the Blink Identity section.
Click Invite users on the right.
👤 How do I invite a user?
Enter the user's email address or mobile number. If using a mobile number, select the correct country code first.
Enter their first and last name. These can be updated at any time.
Add them to the correct groups. Group membership controls which feed posts, hub pages, and channels the user sees - getting this right at invite stage means their content is correct from the moment they open the app.
Optionally, fill in Job Title, Department, Line Manager, Start Date, or Employee ID.
To add further profile fields, click More Details.
Click Invite to send a single invitation, or Invite and add another to keep going.
💡 Profile fields affect group membership. If your organisation uses Dynamic Groups - groups whose membership updates automatically based on profile fields like role or location - the values you enter in step 4 will determine which groups the user is placed in. They also enable access to integrations that use single sign-on (SSO). When in doubt, fill them in.
💡 Not sure which groups to assign? Check with your Blink Champions - the admins in your organisation tasked with helping others get set up on Blink - or contact Blink support and we'll point you in the right direction before the user logs in for the first time.

I'm getting an error saying the user's details are already in use - what does this mean?
The email address, mobile number, or Employee ID is already linked to an existing Blink account. That account needs to be removed before a new one can be created using those details. See the article below for help.

This error usually means one of the following: the user was already invited in the past hour, their email address or mobile number is already linked to another account, or their Employee ID is already in use. Check each of these before retrying.
