I am being asked to enter payment details

Every now and then a pop up will appear asking you to enter your payment details if you haven't entered them onto the Play Store previously. Blink is free to all end users as the licenses are paid for by your organisation. There will be an option to press Skip in the bottom right, click that and Blink will start installing.

If the Blink app won't install, and other apps won't install either, then there is an easy fix.

  1. Open the system settings
  2. Find where it says 'Apps' and open it
  3. You will find a list of your apps installed on your device (if you click 'Apps' and don't see this you may see an option to click 'Apps' again to find the list).
  4. Search for or find 'Google Play Store' and click on it, this will open a new page.
  5. If followed correctly there will be an option labelled 'Storage', click that.
  6. Click 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache'. This will require you to sign in but you will not lose any information, your apps will remain, and the 'Google Play Store' may even run smoother.
  7. Head back to the Google Play Store and Blink, and all your other apps will start installing again.

What devices does Blink not work on

Blink does not support these devices:

  • Android's running:
    • Cupcake [version 1.5]
    • Donut [version 1.6]
    • Eclair [version 2.0 and version 2.1]
    • Froyo [version 2.2]
    • Gingerbread [version 2.3]
    • Honeycomb [version 3.0]
    • Ice Cream Sandwhich [version 4.0]
    • Jelly Bean [version 4.1 and version 4.2 and version 4.3]
    • Huawei devices manufactured after 2018
  • iOS running:
    • Anything below iOS 9 isn't supported.

Why not?

These versions are old and outdated. For example, Cupcake was released on 27 April 2009. Mostly all devices running these versions will have major issues running smoothly.

  • Desktops/laptops
    • Chromebooks cannot download or access the Webapp.
